The Toronto Fashion Week started today with the Canadian catwalk event, which is known as MasterCard Fashion Week in Pecaut Square. The main theme of the event is to showcase the identity and culture of Canada. More than 30,000 guests are expected to attend the event, which will end this Friday. Even though it’s spring, the city is prepping for fall and winter fashion with the showcasing of fall and winter collections during the event. Research shows that MasterCard Fashion Week is the largest fashion show in Canada and the second largest fashion week in North America following the New York Fashion Week.
Toronto Fashion Week has become a highly anticipated event for upcoming and established fashion designers to showcase their talents and work to consumers, press and potential buyers. According to Carolyn Quinn, director of IMG Fashion Events & Properties, IMG Canada, the main aim of the event is to bring together all designers across Canada to showcase their work to a global audience. Some of the biggest names in the Canadian fashion industry are expected to attend the event. So, the fashion week provides a whole new experience to fashion enthusiasts and designers to meet like-minded people and gain new ideas. MasterCard Fashion Week provides a platform for the world to see fall and winter collections in a different setting.
Redken Canada, popularly known for its talented team of hair stylists, will embellish the event through their creative runway hairstyles. Liora Bensoussan, marketing manager of Redken Canada, said that the event will feature creative hairstyles that consumers can recreate at home.
