On February 14, 2015, we attended the eagerly anticipated Nairobi Elegance Affair, which took place at the Nairobi Railways Museum bringing together some of the best fashion talents and designs in Kenya. The main objective of the event was to amass funds to support the needy women in rural areas to start a fashion business through the Cherehani Africa Initiative. The event played an essential role of showcasing the designs of some of the talented designers in Kenya and inspiring the upcoming designers who were in attendance.
Coinciding with Valentine’s Day, the Nairobi Elegance Affair was graced by a mix of beautiful designs, styles and fashions. The artistic ability reflected through the styles of both the attendees and the models could not miss our cameras. The selected venue also killed it all as it provided the perfect ambiance to host such an event. Typically, it was one event you just couldn’t afford missing.
On arrival, we headed to the exhibition stalls where a collection of beauty items from independent designers were displayed. So, if you wanted a perfect gift for your partner considering that it was a Valentine’s Day, this was the right place to get it. We loved the wide range of varieties the designers had to display. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, handbags and rings that featured intricate details and different accents to suit every taste were all available. We took some photos that we believe you would love to see too.
The main part of the Nairobi Elegance Affair came with beautiful models gracing the runway in the best designs made by various talented designers in Kenya. Upcoming designers were given the opportunity to showcase their creativity and talents to the rest of the world. Reputable designers who beautified the runway with their eye-catching works include Terry Watowa, Mary Adhiambo, James Baya, Eve Isabela, Becksville Bridals, Zephania Adar, Sophie Wanjiku and Angie. Internationally renowned designer Shenu Hooda also had something cool to show to the attendees.
We express our gratitude to the Bow-Tie Events and the Cherehani Africa Initiative for making the Nairobi Elegance Affair (Valentine’s Day edition) successful. Darling Amin, you are a talented emcee. Thanks for making us laugh.
